        Quick answer

How much does Fiverr take from sellers?

Fiverr takes 20% of every order, including extras and tips, so a $100 gig pays you $80. Your buyer pays on top: a 5.5% service fee plus $3.50 on purchases under $200, so that gig costs them $109.00. Earnings clear 14 days after completion, or 7 for Top Rated Sellers. To keep $100, price the gig at $125.

        The basics

How Fiverr fees work in 2026

Fiverr charges both sides of every order: the seller pays a commission on what they earn, and the buyer pays a service fee on top of the price.

        1. 20%

          Fiverr seller fee: 20%

Every completed order credits you with 80% of the purchase amount. Fiverr keeps the other 20%, and the same rate applies to gig extras and tips.

        2. 5.5% + $3.50

Fiverr buyer service fee: 5.5% plus $3.50 under $200

Buyers pay a 5.5% service fee on each purchase, plus a $3.50 small order fee on purchases under $200. Fiverr adds the fee at the time of each purchase, so extras bought later and tips each get their own fee.

        3. $5 minimum

          Fees on Fiverr tips

Tips start at $5. Fiverr keeps 20% of the tip, and the buyer pays the service fee on it as a separate transaction.

        4. 14 days

          When you can withdraw

Earnings clear 14 days after an order is marked complete, or 7 days for Top Rated Sellers.

Direct deposit, US only (via Payoneer)$1 per transfer

PayPal and Payoneer may charge their own fees depending on your country and currency.

        Worked example

Example: Fiverr fees on a $150 gig with a $20 tip

A seller completes a $150 logo gig and the buyer adds a $20 tip. Fiverr keeps 20% of each, $30.00 of the gig and $4.00 of the tip, so $136.00 is credited to the seller. Withdrawing it by local bank transfer through Payoneer costs $3, which leaves $133.00.

The buyer pays $161.75 for the gig ($150 plus the 5.5% service fee and the $3.50 small order fee) and $24.60 for the tip, which is charged as its own purchase. Across both payments Fiverr collects $50.35 of the $186.35 the buyer pays.

        • Seller keeps$133.00After a $3 bank withdrawal
        • Credited to the seller$136.0080% of $170
        • Buyer pays$186.35Gig and tip, with fees
        • Fiverr collects$50.35Across both sides

        Pricing tip

        The $200 threshold

Because the $3.50 small order fee stops at $200, a $199 gig costs your buyer $213.45 while a $200 gig costs them $211.00. If your price is between about $197 and $199.99, raising it to exactly $200 earns you more and saves your buyer money.

        $199 gig

        Buyer pays $213.45

$199 plus the 5.5% service fee and the $3.50 small order fee. You keep $159.20.

        • $3.50 small order fee
        • Costs your buyer more

        $200 gig

        Buyer pays $211.00

$200 plus the 5.5% service fee, with no small order fee. You keep $160.00.

        • No small order fee
        • You earn $0.80 more
        • Your buyer saves $2.45

Fees are only part of the choice. On Fiverr, buyers find and order a gig you’ve listed; on Upwork, you usually send proposals for jobs clients post. Which works better depends on your service and how you like to find clients, not just the fee.

        Do the maths

        How this calculator works

        What you receive

You receive = (gig price + extras + tip) × 80% − withdrawal fees − conversion − Promoted Gigs spend

        What your buyer pays

Buyer pays = each purchase + 5.5% of it + $3.50 if that purchase is under $200

        What to charge

Price to charge = (what you want to receive + withdrawal fees + Promoted Gigs spend) ÷ 0.8, adjusted for conversion

How to keep more of your Fiverr earnings

        1. Price from what you want to receive. Divide your target by 0.8: $100 in your pocket means a $125 gig.
        2. Mind the $200 line. Gigs just under $200 cost buyers more than a $200 gig.
        3. Sell extras at checkout. Extras added to the first purchase share one service fee; extras bought later get their own.
        4. Withdraw in batches. Flat withdrawal fees cost less per order when you move several at once.
        5. Pick the slower card option. The Revenue Card costs $1 within 2 days and $3 within 2 hours.

        FAQ

        Fiverr fee questions

Short answers to what sellers ask most. Something missing or looks wrong? Tell us and we’ll check it.

How much does Fiverr take from sellers?

Fiverr keeps 20% of every order, so you earn 80% of the purchase amount. The same 20% applies to gig extras and tips. On a $100 gig, Fiverr keeps $20 and you receive $80, before any withdrawal or currency conversion costs.

What fee does the buyer pay on Fiverr?

Buyers pay a service fee of 5.5% of each purchase, plus a $3.50 small order fee on purchases under $200. A $100 gig costs the buyer $109.00.

Why does a $199 gig cost the buyer more than a $200 gig?

Because of the small order fee. A $199 gig costs the buyer $213.45 (5.5% plus $3.50), while a $200 gig costs $211.00 with no small order fee. Pricing at $200 earns you more and costs your buyer less.

Does Fiverr take a cut of tips?

Yes. Fiverr keeps 20% of a tip, so a $20 tip adds $16 to your earnings. Tips are separate transactions, so the buyer pays Fiverr’s service fee on them too. The smallest tip a buyer can give is $5.

How much does it cost to withdraw from Fiverr?

Withdrawing to PayPal is free on Fiverr’s side. A local bank transfer through Payoneer costs $3, a US direct deposit costs $1, and the Fiverr Revenue Card costs $1 within 2 days or $3 within 2 hours. PayPal or Payoneer may add their own fees, especially for currency conversion.

When can I withdraw my Fiverr earnings?

Earnings become available 14 days after the order is marked complete. Top Rated Sellers wait 7 days.

How do I work out what to charge on Fiverr?

Divide what you want to earn by 0.8. To receive $100, price the gig at $125. To cover a withdrawal fee too, add it to what you want before dividing: a $3 bank transfer means $103 ÷ 0.8 = $128.75. Switch the calculator to “What to charge” to include extras, tips, withdrawal and conversion costs.

What are the fees on Fiverr hourly contracts?

On hourly contracts, sellers earn 80% of the hourly rate for the hours in each completed weekly report. Buyers pay a 5.5% service fee on the hourly rate and a $5 order initiation fee when the contract starts.

Which takes less, Fiverr or Upwork?

Fiverr charges sellers a flat 20%. Upwork charges freelancers 0% to 15% per contract, but you pay for Connects to send proposals. On a $1,000 job you keep $800 on Fiverr and $850 to $1,000 on Upwork, before other costs. Fees are only part of the choice, though: on Fiverr buyers order a gig you’ve listed, while on Upwork you usually send proposals, so the platform with the lower fee isn’t automatically the better one for your work.
