Look, you already know what regular affiliate marketing is. You push some product from Amazon, someone buys a $20 book, you make a glorious 80 cents. Whoopee. You’d have to sell a mountain of those things to even pay for your internet bill.

High ticket affiliate marketing is the exact same concept, but you’re promoting expensive stuff. I mean, REAL expensive stuff. We’re talking digital courses, high-end software, coaching programs, masterminds… products that cost anywhere from $500 to $5,000, or even more.

The commission on a single sale could be $200. $500. Even $1,000+.

From. One. Sale.

Now do you see why selling the Bugatti is a lot more interesting than selling keychains? It’s about working smarter, not just grinding harder for pennies. You need fewer customers to make a real, life-changing income, but you have to be good at finding the right customers.

The Real Deal: How Much Can You Actually Make?

Okay, let’s cut the BS. Everyone wants to see the numbers.

The commission percentages in high ticket are usually way better too. For a physical product on Amazon, you might get 3-5%. For a digital product like a course, it’s common to see 30%, 40%, even 50% commissions.

Let’s do some stupidly simple math.

  • Low-Ticket Pains: You promote a $50 supplement with a 10% commission. You make $5. To make $5,000 a month, you need to make 1,000 sales. Every. Single. Month. Good luck with that.
  • High-Ticket Freedom: You promote a $2,000 marketing course with a 40% commission. You make $800 per sale. To make $5,600 a month, you just need 7 sales.

Seven.

See the difference? It’s a completely different mindset. It’s not about volume, it’s about value and trust. You can’t just spam a link to a $2k product and expect people to buy, you have to build a real relationship with your audience first. It’s more work upfront, for sure. But the payoff is… well, it’s much, much bigger.

The key is finding products that solve a major, expensive problem. Nobody pays $2,000 for something that solves a minor inconvenience. They pay for things that will make them more money, save them a ton of time, or change their life.

My 10 Tips to Actually Succeed and Not Waste Your Time

Alright, listen up. I’m gonna say this again cause nobody seems to get it: this is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme. It takes real work and a real strategy. If you just grab a link and start spamming it on IG comments, you’re gonna fail. Period.

Here’s how you actually do it.

  1. Pick a Niche You Don’t Hate. You’re going to be creating a ton of content, so if you pick “underwater basket weaving” just cause you think it’s profitable, you’re gonna burn out and quit. Pick something you’re either passionate about or at least genuinely interested in. Profit follows passion (or at least deep interest).
  2. Become the Go-To Person. Don’t be a generalist. Don’t be the “online marketing” guy. Be the “YouTube for real estate agents” guy. Or the “email marketing for plumbers” gal. Own a tiny, specific corner of the internet. That’s how you build authority.
  3. Build an Actual Audience. Forget followers. You need an audience. People who know you, like you, and trust you. This comes from creating genuinely helpful content. YouTube videos, a blog, a podcast… pick one and be consistent. Give away your best stuff for free.
  4. Master ONE Traffic Source. Stop trying to be on TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and a blog all at once. You’ll suck at all of them. Pick ONE platform where your target audience hangs out and go all-in. Become a master of YouTube. Or SEO. Or Facebook Ads. Just one. Sure you can repost to others (same reel on IG, TikTok, YouTube shorts, etc)
  5. Build Your Email List. This is the most important asset you will ever own. For real. Social media platforms can die, Google algorithms can change, but you OWN your email list. It’s the only direct line you have to your audience. This is non-negotiable.
  6. Actually USE the Product. How can you sell something you’ve never used? It’s dishonest and people will see right through your BS. Buy the course. Use the software. Be a product of the product. Your recommendations will be 100x more authentic.
  7. Create a Bridge Page. Never, ever, ever send traffic directly to the affiliate offer. It’s lazy and it doesn’t work. Send them to a simple “bridge page” first. This is a page where you have a video or text that pre-sells them, warms them up, and adds more value before you ask them to click your link.
  8. Think Long Term. You might not make a sale for 3 months. Or 6 months. Who cares? You’re building a real business, a real brand, a real asset. This takes time. If you need money by Friday, go drive for Uber. This is a marathon.
  9. Invest in Yourself. The best high-ticket product you can ever promote is yourself. But to get there, you need to learn. Buy courses. Go to seminars. Hire a coach. The money you invest in your own brain will pay you back 100-fold.
  10. Track Everything. You need to know your numbers. How many people click your links? What’s your email opt-in rate? Which piece of content is driving sales? If you’re not tracking, you’re just guessing. And guessing is a stupid way to run a business.

So yeah, it’s a lot of work. But the payoff for that work is so much bigger than the low-ticket grind.
